Program structure
- The program is operated
by:

contractual relationship with the state medical board? Yes
- The Colorado Medical
Practice Act establishes the scope of services and funding mechanism for
a "physician peer health assistance" provider. The Board of Medical Examiners (BME) selects
the provider based on competitive bids (five year cycle) and authorizes
an annual funding level. Peer health assistance fees are collected from
physicians at the biannual license renewal; these funds are restricted
and may not be awarded for any other purpose.

Chemical dependency

on the diagnosis and ongoing treatment. Those having stipulated medical licenses with the BME are typically five years.
